Lillian June Thompson
Lillian June Thompson, of Dothan, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Noland Hospital. She was 86.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Van Gauthe officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Mrs. Thompson was born December 10, 1926 in Meridian, MS and lived her early life there. She was a graduate of Meridian High School. She met and married William Robert Thompson, Jr. and they lived in various locations with him serving in the U.S. Navy. They relocated to Elba in 1970 and moved to Dothan in 2000. Mrs. Thompson was an avid Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. She enjoyed traveling, music, and dancing. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Thompson, Jr.; a sister, Peggy Jenkins; a brother, Marvin Monette, Jr.; and a grandson, Christopher Neal Thompson.
Survivors include her three sons, Gary W. Thompson (Dianne) of Dothan, Glenn Thompson (Marilyn) of Tallahassee, FL, and Greg Thompson of Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren, Allison East (Nic) of Birmingham, AL, Emily Thompson of Tallahassee, FL, Kevin Thompson (Kayla) of New Orleans, LA, Kyle Thompson of Montgomery, AL, and Keith Thompson (Ashleigh) of Auburn, AL; and five great-grandchildren.
