Lillie B. Lowe
Lillie B. Lowe, peacefully fell asleep in death on Saturday, February 14, 2015. She was 83 years old.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Orelious Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 on Sunday.
Lille was born to Mattie and Joe D. Butts on January 5, 1932. She was the second oldest of 9 children. Her sisters, Katie of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Ethel Butts of Fort Lauderdale, FL and her brother, Robert of Rochester, New York, Tommy C. Butts of Pompano Beach, FL, Tim Butts of Fort Lauderdale FL survive her in death.
Lillie was raised in Barbour County, AL where she met her loving husband, Tommy Lowe. They were married on May 25, 1949 and shared 65 happy years together in various parts of southern Alabama.
Lillie was known for her giving nature, exquisite cooking and her zeal for God’s ministry. Faithfully completing her race to the finish, we know she rests in God’s memory awaiting his promise of a resurrection. Lillie’s devotion to Jehovah and love for her community moved her to pioneer for many years. “But as for me, determined I shall be to walk eternally in my integrity.”
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine Malone; her son, Dwayne Lowe; her grandson, Jarvis Lewis; and three brothers, J.T., Willie and Charlie Butts.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy; her son, Tommy Jr. (Ann) of Dothan, AL, Tony (Natalie) also of Dothan, AL and Kevin (Jennifer) of Stone Mountain, GA; her daughters, Brenda of Dothan, AL, Deborah (John) of Winder, GA and Anglia (Terry) of Dallas, GA; her grandchildren from Geraldine: Chad, Michael, Jennifer and Roderick; from Tommy: Andre, Washonda, and Raymond; from Brenda: Jermaine; from Deborah: Jevon, Asajuona, Exevier and Seneca; from Dewayne: Safari, Tracy, Tamara, Jeremiah, Dwaydria and Diamond; from Angila: Michael, Sherri, Phillip, Cornelius and Terrald; from Tony: Geoffroi, Davide, Nathaniel, and Chardonnay. She also leaves a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
