Linda Diane Stokes Goforth, of Enterprise, went to be with her Heavenly Father August 1, 2015. She was 66 years old.
With a Christ like spirit, Linda served God with an unwavering faith and never lost the desire to put others before herself. She served the wiregrass community as a nurse and caregiver for 43 years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, August 4, 2015, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Steve Bruce officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 PM until 7 PM, Monday, August 3, 2015.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents John Alvin and Jimmie Lee Stokes; brothers, Ray Stokes, Paul Stokes, and Willie C Stokes; sisters, Evelyn Martin, Eva Nix and special sister-in-law, Peggy Stokes.
Linda was survived by Barry Goforth, husband of 45 years; children, Eric (Mandy) Goforth and Chris (Nikki) Goforth; grandchildren, Trent Goforth, Grant Goforth, IsaBelle Thompson, and Mary Charles Thompson; brothers, Charles Stokes and John (Kathy) Stokes; sister Mary (Bill) Watson; brother-in-law, Terry Goforth, sister-in-law, Sherry Goforth; several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hartford Health Care and Gentiva Hospice of Dothan for providing excellent care and loving support for our family. In her spirit of giving, Linda requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: American Cancer Society, c/o Linda Andress, PO Box 310900, Enterprise, AL 36331 .
