LINDA FAYE PARKER
MIDLAND CITY.… Linda Faye Parker, a resident Midland City, passed away at Saturday morning, May 2, 2020, at a Dothan hospital. She was 76.
Due to the COVID-19 Virus, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 5, 2020, under the Wright Funeral Home & Crematory breezeway outside the chapel, with Reverend Ray Kelly officiating. Anyone wanting to attend the service will be allowed, as long as the CDC COVID-19 guidelines are met. There will be a public address system set up so it can be broadcast with everyone sitting in their vehicles to listen. Burial will follow at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would ask that anyone who wants to sign a register and attend the viewing without the family being present (because of CDC Covid-19 guidelines) may do so from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Monday, May 4, 2020 and 8:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in the Dogwood Room at the Wright Funeral Home & Crematory.
The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made in Ms. Parkers honor, to the Midland City United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1372 Hinton Waters Ave Midland City, AL 36350.
Mrs. Parker was born in Midland City, Alabama to the late Huey & Louise Walding. She was a lifelong resident of Midland City. She was very active in her community and was always there to see about everyone else’s needs before her own. She was a member of the Midland City United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She loved her flowers, so it was only fitting that she was also a member of the Midland City Garden Club. She worked and retired from Jack’s Drugs as Pharmacy Tech.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Walding and Mikie Walding.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Harriet Parker, Fontana, CA, Sabra Branch (Mike) of Midland City, Bebi Wasdin (Jim) of Blakely, GA; her grandchildren, Aubre Gilley, Robbin Coleman, Kirk Coleman, Sarah Wasdin, Emma Branch, and Blain Branch; her great-grandchildren, Dash Bowie, Stephan & Lotus Gilley; her brother, Kenny Walding (Judy) of Headland, AL; her sister-in-law, Dot Walding of Midland City, AL; a special niece and nephew, Rosa Walding Lingo and David Lingo; and several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Kirk Coleman, Kevin Walding, Mark Walding, Mikie Walding, Dr. Jeff Walding, and Joey Walding.
