Linda G. Copley
Linda G. Copley, a resident of Newton, died Thursday morning, December 18, 2014 at her residence. She was 76.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Ratcliff officiating. A private burial for family only will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:15 Saturday prior to service time.
Mrs. Copley was born December 24, 1937 in Malaysia and devoted her life to teaching while there. She came to the United States to further her education. She was a loving wife to William F. Copley who died in August of this year. Mrs. Copley was generous and served as a faithful volunteer to the American Red Cross, the DAV and the organizations of her church. She was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna Shaw (Reginald) of Ozark; granddaughters, Holly Miller (Bobby) of Dothan and Ivy Core (Patrick) of Knoxville, TN; a great-grandson, Jacob Miller of Dothan; great-granddaughters, Megan Core and Mollie Core, both of Knoxville, TN; a niece, Sharon (Steve) Bremner and daughters, Sarah and Katie of Chattanooga, TN; several brothers and sisters.
