Linda Jean Shelley Spencer, 69, of Headland passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at her residence surrounded by family and friends.


Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday, November 5, 2012 at Sunset Funeral home. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.


Linda was born September 20, 1943 in Houston County and lived the early part of her life in Tumbleton and was a graduate of Newville High School. She owned and operated the One-Stop Bait and Tackle and has resided in Headland for the past 15 years.


Survivors include her son Wayne Carroll of Columbia; daughters, Barbara Stone of Headland, Sherri Welch of Headland, Kimberley Irvine of Leesville, LA, and Kristina (William) Spears of Rosepine, LA; 9 grandchildren, Michelle Pritchard, Amanda Stone, Clayton Spears, Laken Spears, Brent Carroll, Jennifer Carroll, Jessica Carroll, Jamie Carroll, and Julia Carroll; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray (Brenda) Shelley of Ozark, and Mickey Shelley of Tumbleton; a sister Brenda McCullough; several nieces and nephews also survive.
