Linda Miller Stanford, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Geneva, surrounded by her family, after her courageous battle with cancer.  She was born in Columbia, SC, on August 19, 1942, to J.L. and Lurie Miller.


Linda and the love of her life, Billy Stanford, were married October 21, 1960.  They lived in Geneva, where Linda owned and operated Linda’s Beauty Shop for over fifty years.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many.  Linda was a talented artist, seamstress, and decorator.  One of her favorite pastimes was playing dominos monthly with the “Ditsy Dots.”   


Linda was preceded in death by her father, J.L. Miller of Bonifay, FL.      


She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Billy Stanford; daughters Vicki Bess  of Kiln, MS; Anji King Rhodes of Diamondhead, MS; grandsons Riley King (fiancé Lacie) and Beau King (girlfriend Jessica), both of Diamondhead, MS; great-granddaughter Avie James King, Diamondhead, MS; mother, Lurie Miller of Bonifay; brothers, Wayne Miller and Larry Miller, both of Bonifay; sisters, Carole Hughes of Cottondale and Ann Bruner of Graceville, FL; many nieces, nephews, loving friends and former clients, and her “Ditsy Dots” domino group.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2019, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Minister Harry O. Adkison, officiating.  Burial will follow at Black Community Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made in Linda’s memory to the charity of your choice.


The family wishes to thank all the caregivers of Covenant Hospice for their kindness and care during this journey.
