Lloyd Thomas Williams, Jr., of Dothan, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at home, with his family by his side.  He was 89.


 


Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Victoria Cemetery in Jack with Dr. Joseph Johnson and Rev. Donnie Marler officiating.  A Celebration of Life service will follow in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise at 2:00 p.m.  The family will receive friends following the service.


 


Pallbearers will be: David E. Damon, Justin E. Damon, Nikalus E. Prosser, Frank Williams, Ralph Johnson, and Scotty Jordan.  Honorary pallbearers will be: Nicholas E. Damon, Caroline A. Damon, William Parker Prosser, and Mallory Lloyd Prosser.


 


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, PO Box 199300, Dallas, TX 75219-9842.


 


Lloyd was born March 5, 1928, in Montgomery, Alabama, to the late Lloyd T. Williams, Sr., and Elsie D. Courtney Williams.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War and a member of the Army National Guard.  He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners.  He retired from Bush Bros. after 15 years.  He also was an elder at Evergreen Presbyterian Church.


 


Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Myra Nell Allen Williams of Dothan; daughter, Tanya Lloyd Williams Damon (David) of Plano, TX; sister, Joyce Mead of Burlington, IA; two grandchildren: Justin E. Damon (Ana) of Prosper, TX and Mallory Lloyd Damon Prosser (Nik) of Frisco, TX; four great-grandchildren: Nicholas E. Damon, Caroline A. Damon, William Parker Prosser, and Myra Lloyd Prosser; brother-in-law, Ray Tatum of Alexandria, LA; sister-in-law, Edna Earl Logan; brother-in-law, Charles R. Logan of Dothan; numerous nieces and nephews.


 


The family thanks Kim Enfinger and Jay Thoma along with the staff of Covenant Hospice for their loving, compassionate care.
