LOGAN  McCASLIN



ABBEVILLE…Logan (Mac) McCaslin, a resident of Pebble Cove on Lake Eufaula, died Sunday afternoon, November 18, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. He was 82.


            Graveside services, with Military Honors and Masonic Rites, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 20, 2012, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Dianne Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.


            Mr. McCaslin was born and reared in Lima, Ohio, son of the late Earl Lawrence McCaslin, Sr. and Sarah Estella Battles McCaslin. He lived in various locations in the United States and overseas while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. McCaslin also lived in Dothan before moving to Pebble Cove on Lake Eufaula in 1995. He retired in 1974 from the U.S. Air Force with the rank of Tech Sergeant and served his country during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retirement from the military, Mr. McCaslin was employed by General Electric in Dothan and later as a policeman with Wallace Community College.


            Surviving relatives include his wife, Dorothy (Dot) McDaniel McCaslin, Abbeville; two daughters, Valerie McCaslin Acunalopez (Joe), Columbus, OH, and Dianna McCaslin Pollard, Fulton, TX; two sons, Daniel Landsverk (Winnie); and Michael Landsverk, all of Abbeville; a sister, Isabel McCaslin, Lima, OH; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.
