Lois Moore, a resident of Webb, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at her residence. She was 78.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11 am in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 pm. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Covenant Care Hospice.
Lois was born on January 8, 1940 in Goshen, Alabama and lived there during her childhood years. She was a 1958 graduate of Ashford High School with Honors. Lois lived several years in Auburn before returning to the Wiregrass where she worked as an accountant and enjoyed doing income taxes. She was an avid Nascar fan, loved the Auburn Tigers, enjoyed watching her sons play baseball and going to the lake with family and friends. Lois enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking, riding motorcycles, ceramics and woodworking. She was a devoted housewife and well known as “MOM” to every child that crossed her path. As years past, her title of “MOM” changed to “NANNY”. She never met a stranger and considered you family after only a few short minutes of interaction.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, George M. Blackstone; and her brother, John “Bud” Beasley.
Survivors include her very loving husband of eight years, Len Moore; her sons, James L. (Bobbi) Blackstone of Webb, AL, Michael (Susan) Blackstone of Charleston, SC, Donnie (Roxi) Blackstone of Villa Rica, GA and David (Suni) Moore of Dothan, Alabama; her daughters, Amy (Barry) Hinson of Georgetown, GA and Melanie (Brad) Mills of Dothan; 14 grandchildren, Nikki, Mandy, Tava, Jordan, Justin, Adam, Courtney, Charlotte, Dewayne, Catherine, Daniel, Cody, Caitlin, Shane, Tyler, Crystal, Ashley, Eric, Kim, Jonathon, Brent, Brandon, Corey and Alex; several great-grandchildren; and two loving sisters, Mary Reeves and Charlotte Clark.
