LOIS DOERINE RENFROE SHELLEY
HEADLAND. . .Lois Doerine Renfroe Shelley, a resident of Kinsey, formerly of Headland, died early Sunday morning, March 3, 2019, at her home. She was 65.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 7, 2019, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Sister Brenda Yon and Sister Lovie Jean Floyd officiating. Graveside services will follow in Gardens of Memory with Reverend Harrison Steege officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Alabama “In Memory of Christopher Whitehead”, 1600 7th Avenue, South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
Lois Shelley was born in Opp and reared near Samson, Alabama. She lived in various locations in Florida before moving to Headland where she lived most of her adult lifetime before moving to Kinsey in January 2019. Lois was a 1988 graduate of the LPN program at Wallace College. She was retired, due to disability, as a Licensed Practical Nurse, from Southeast Health. Lois was a member of the New Life Gospel Center in the Tumbleton Community. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pinkie Lee Tidwell Renfroe, a special nephew, Christopher Dean Whitehead, and twin infant great-nephews.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Tammy Carter (Scott), Kinsey; Samantha Bragan (John), Skipperville; and Brandi Shelley (Daryl), Coffee Springs; her father, James Ralph Renfroe, a resident of the Henry County Health & Rehab in Abbeville; three sisters, Barbara Peters (Chester), and Sandra Richardson (Tony), all of Headland; and Nora Whitehead (William), Tumbleton Community; a brother, Randy Renfroe (Joyce), Tumbleton Community; four grandchildren, Anthony Martin (Hayley), Bryan Martin (Katie), Cody Ryals and Jake Bragan; six great-grandchildren, Brianna, Dameyan, Landyn, Noaj, Logan and Makayla; several nieces and nephews, a special friend and father to her children, William Shelley, and lifelong best friend, Lovie Floyd.
Serving as active and honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Martin, Bryan Martin, Cody Ryals, Jake Bragan, and all the nephews.
