SKIPPERVILLE. . .Lois Howell Galloway a resident of Skipperville, (Browns Church Community), reached her goal to join her Lord on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. She was 88.


            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 5, 2016, in the Browns United Methodist Church with Reverend Marquis Wingard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Browns United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o John A. Galloway, Jr., 3337 North County Road 67, Skipperville, AL 36374.


            Lois was born March 8, 1928 in Northport, Alabama, to the late Jessie Lee “Bud” and Maude Gardner Howell. Before becoming Ray’s housewife, she was employed by Federal Civil Service, Ft Benning, GA as USAIS Library Classified Documents Custodian.


            She loved the Lord and was a member of the Browns United Methodist Church where she served Him faithfully and in many capacities in the Dothan District.


            Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Edger Ray Galloway, five brothers, Cyrus, Marcus (Mack), Walter Lee, Billy Jack, and Aubrey (Duke) Howell; three sisters, Mary Frances and Lorene Howell and an unnamed infant girl.


            Mrs. Galloway is survived by a sister, Dean Latham (Bobby), two brothers,  Rozelle  Howell and Donald Howell; two step-daughters, Joann Oswald (Donald), and Mary Elizabeth Galloway, a step-son, John Arthur  Galloway (Jeanette), several nieces, nephews, as well as several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.


             Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the husbands and wives of the Community Cottage Prayer Group of East Dale County, and her devoted friends at Wesley Chapel Community Church.
