LOIS TURNER GOLDEN
NEWVILLE. . .Lois Turner Golden, a resident of Newville, died Saturday morning, November 2, 2013, at her home. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 4, 2013, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Scott Wyatt and Reverend Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M Sunday at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Baptist Church, c/o Janara Parrish, 1350 County Road 14, Newville, AL 36353 or to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Katie Rotton, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111.
Mrs. Golden was born and reared in Houston County, daughter of the late Hubert Lee Turner and Willie L. Vera Baker Turner. She lived in the Concord community of Henry County most of her adult lifetime. Mrs. Golden was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Golden Peanut Company in Headland. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Willis Golden, and a sister, Rosa Mae Cherry.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Janet Brannon (Ronnie), Dothan; three sons, Jimmy Golden (Martha), Headland; Charles Golden, Newville; and Dan Golden (Sharon), Newville; four sisters, Doris Gilmer, Dothan; Kathrine Shiver, Gordon; Jean Trusty, Dothan; and Dean Howell (A.Z.), Cowarts; a brother, Eldridge (Buddy) Turner (Wanda), Douglas, GA; a brother-in-law, Monroe Cherry, Pansey; five grandchildren, Steven Brannon (Tabitha), Valerie Wall (Ashley), Kimberly Bruer (Joe), Charles Ray Golden (Elaine), and Jonathan Golden (Nicole); seven great-grandchildren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Ashley Maloy, Joe Bruer, Charles Ray Golden, Jonathan Golden, Steven Brannon, and Myron Johnson.
