Ms. Lora Bryan Thompson of Geneva, Alabama passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012, after a very courageous battle with cancer and her supportive, loving family by her side. She was 53.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Maple Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Shirah, Bro. Alan Marsh and Rev. George Abbott officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.
The family asked that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Clinic at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. An account to accept contributions will be set up at the Citizens Bank, 515 S. Commerce or P.O. Box 190, Geneva, Alabama 36340.
Lora was born June 25, 1959, in Geneva County, Alabama. She always had a positive attitude and beautiful smile. She had an abundance of courage and was always encouraging others. Lora was a great inspiration to everyone, especially throughout her battle with cancer. She was very loving and devoted to her family and friends.
Survivors include her fiancé, Steve Bowdion, Geneva; one daughter, Lora Lynn Watkins (Jeff); two grandchildren: Dusty and Walt Watkins, all of Hartford; mother, Doris Seay Bryan, Geneva; father, Junior Bryan, Westville, FL; twin sister, Nora Bryan, Geneva; brother, Nelson “Eddie” Bryan (Tara); nephew, Cameron Bryan, all of Eufaula; special friend, Tom Sorrells, Dothan; other extended family and a host of friends.
