Lora May Sayres, a resident of Graceville, Florida, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was 81.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Coley Holloway officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1-2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cowarts Baptist Church Building Fund, 2855 Jordan Avenue, Cowarts, AL 36321.

Mrs. Sayres was born on June 19, 1935 in Elkins, West Virginia and lived there the early years of her life. She moved to Akron, Ohio before residing in Monrovia, Liberia. Mrs. Sayres would move to Pensacola, Florida before her husband answered the call to preach. Mrs. Sayres was very supportive of her husband's ministry by playing the piano, working in children's church, with WMU ministries, teaching GA's and singing in the choir. Mrs. Sayres was a foster grandparent at Ashford Elementary. She was a member of Cowart's Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sayres was preceded in death by her husband, Marshel Wade (Monk) Sayres, her parents, Elkins and Edna Bartlett, her brother, Gerald Bartlett, and by her son, Robert Aaron Sayres.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Kathy Whitten, Kim Harrell, and Karen Jane (Mark) Jackson; her 3 grandchildren, April Nichole (Robbie) Lynn, Daniel Aaron Harrell, and Skyler June Jackson; her 2 great-grandchildren, T. J. and Charlie Lynn; her sister, Lydia Bell Ross; and by several nieces and nephews.
