NEWVILLE. . .Lottie Bailey Sowell Huntsman, a resident of Newville, died early Saturday evening, January 23, 2016, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility. She was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2016, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Brandon Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 2200 Riverchase Center, Suite 604, Birmingham, Alabama 35244.
Mrs. Huntsman was born and reared in the Screamer community of Henry County, daughter of the late Reuben Lee Bailey and Addie Wilson Bailey. She lived most of her adult lifetime in Montgomery before moving to Newville several years ago. Mrs. Huntsman was preceded in death by her husbands, Doug Huntsman and John W. (Bill) Collins.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Cecilia Sowell Howell (Clint Howell, Sr.), Pike Road, AL; two sons, Keith Sowell, Montgomery; and Jeffrey Sowell, Ft. Walton Beach, FL; two brothers, Lloyd Thomas Bailey (Betty Lou), and Mertice Bailey (Robin), all of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, Lee Sowell, Adam Sowell (Joey), Ryan Swanner (Jenifer), Jacob Aaron Sowell, Annon Sowell, Haylee Howell, Peyton Sowell, Preston Sowell and Parker Sowell; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Sowell and Grayson Cooper.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby Bailey, Kenny Bailey, Russell Bailey, Jacob Aaron Sowell, Ryan Swanner and Adam Sowell.
