Lottie Be Phelps, 87, of 67 Oklahoma Street, Blakely, GA 39823, passed away at her home Tuesday night, March 12, 2019. Her funeral will be held Friday morning, March 15, 2019 at 11 a.m.EDT at Colomokee Baptist Church with Rev. Yancey Hartman officiating. Burial will follow in the Colomokee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glenn Floyd, Tony Taylor, Scott Anglin, Jasper Dowell and Paul Wigley. Visitation will be held at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home on Thursday evening, March 14, 2019, from 7 to 9 PM EDT. Lottie Be was born on November 2, 1931 in Ft. Gaines, GA to the late Veto Franklin Phelps and Lila McCraine Phelps. She was a member of Colomokee Baptist Church, for 30 years she was a bookkeeper for the Dept. of Family and Children Services of Blakely. After her retirement from DFACS she worked another 18 years as an Executive Secretary for the GA County Welfare Association of Atlanta, GA. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers; Veto Franklin Phelps, Jr. and Joe Phelps and a nephew, Aaron Phelps. Her survivors include a sister, Dorothy Lee Goolsby of Blakely, GA; two nieces, Catherine Goolsby of Decatur, GA and Melissa Phelps Branton and Keith of Dothan, AL, a nephew, Frank Goolsby of Lilburn, GA and a great niece, Kira Branton of Dothan, AL.
