A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Columba Catholic Church with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Park from 4:00-6:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023 with a rosary service starting at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Social Services, 557 W. Main St., Dothan, AL 36301.








Louella “Lou” Mae Entz, a resident of Dothan, AL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 lovingly surrounded by her family at her residence. She was 87 years old.


Lou was born on February 1, 1936 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Edgar and Virginia Brown Gilliland. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Dayton, where she lived for most of her younger years, until she met her husband, Bill. After their marriage in November of 1957, she began traveling with her husband during his career with GTE and raising their four wonderful children before finding their home here in Dothan, AL in 1969. Lou loved spending time with her family, serving the church and her community. Lou loved to cook and nothing pleased her more than sitting around a table with the people she loved the most. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, playing Bridge, and being part of numerous organizations, such as Dothan Service League, Parent Teacher Organizations, garden clubs, and supper clubs. Lou was a devoted parishioner of Saint Columba Catholic Church.



She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kerry Entz, and a sister-in-law, Eileen Schilling.



She is survived by her children, Mike (Lorraine) Entz, Linda (Mike) Campbell, Steve (Annette) Entz, and Doug Entz; six wonderful grandchildren, Kristin (Andy) Johnston, Michael Entz, Brett Entz, Nancy (Charlie) Leech, Brittany Entz, Avery Entz; three great grandchildren, Conley Johnston, Parker Johnston, and Colton Leech; her two brothers, Dave Gilliland and Bill Gilliland; her sister, Betty Yost; and several nieces and nephews.


The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the caring staff of Southern Care Hospice, especially Donna and Vanita for the love and compassion shown to them during this difficult time.
