LOUETTE ETHRIDGE MAYO
HEADLAND…Louette Whitehead Ethridge Mayo, a resident of Headland, died Thursday afternoon, February 14, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. She was 65.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 17, 2013, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend James Deese officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M. Saturday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Dot Overstreet, 302 Stone Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Louette Mayo was born and reared in Abbeville, daughter of the late Herbert Ellis Whitehead and Axie Lou Fletcher Whitehead. She was a 1965 graduate of Abbeville High School. Louette was employed by Ameris Bank in Dothan as a Loan Processor. In earlier years, she was employed in the law firm of Gunter and Peterson in Abbeville as a secretary, and had also worked as a teller at Southland Bank. Louette lived in the Brown’s Crossroads Community of Henry County most of her adult lifetime before moving to Headland in 1999. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Free Will Baptist Church, near Headland. Louette was preceded in death by the father of her children, James Stephens (Steve) Ethridge.
Surviving relatives include her husband, William Thomas (Billy) Mayo; two sons, James E. (Jim) Ethridge (Sandra); and Thomas L. (Tom) Ethridge (Carmen), all of Headland; seven grandchildren, Alex Ethridge, Jennifer Alligood (John), Ken Bauman (Lenora), Jerica Ethridge, Chase Ethridge, Maghan Johnson, and Madison Johnson; and four great-grandchildren, Faith Alligood, Sophie Alligood, Kaitlyn Bauman, and Austin Bauman.
