Master Sergeant Louis Francis Berutti (Retired), 81, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home in Enterprise, Alabama.


Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014, in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory in Enterprise, Alabama, with Brother John Granger officiating.


The family will be receiving flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice.


Louis “Lou” Berutti was born on February 17, 1933 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to his parents, Louis F. Berutti, Sr. and Nettie Riccodeli.


Orphaned at age five, he was a self-made man.  Master Sergeant Berutti joined the United States Army and was a highly decorated veteran of twenty six (26) years of military service, including a tour during the Korean War and two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.


During his many years of military service, he did his duty as an instructor and aircraft maintenance technician, earning numerous medals, awards and commendations.


Louis “Lou” Berutti spent his latter years on the dance floor as an avid and enthusiastic member of the Enterprise Ballroom Dance Club.  Known for his technical expertise and attention to detail, he was admired by all who had the good fortune to see him dance.


A devoted husband and loving father, he always gave great consideration to his family’s needs in every decision he made.


Louis “Lou” Berutti’s legacy to those who survive him is above all his love for his family, his seemingly endless generosity of spirit, his unyielding sense of humor and his loyalty to anyone he ever called a friend.  He will be greatly missed.


He is preceded in death by his parents, numerous siblings and his late wife of forty seven (47) years, Fran Berutti.


Louis “Lou” Berutti is survived by his loving wife, Shirley D. Berutti of Enterprise, Alabama; his three sons, Anthony Berutti (Tracy) of Watkinsville, Georgia, Brent Berutti (Kim) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri and Glen Berutti of Portland, Oregon; his step children John Casey Moulton (Natalie) of Colquitt, Georgia and Anna Beth Hollingsworth (Rick Jr.) of Enterprise, Alabama; his grandchildren Krista Berutti, Nathan Berutti, Elizabeth Berutti, Robert Berutti, Allen Berutti, Cason Moulton and Cannon Moulton; his great grandchild Antoine Matthews; his sisters, Geraldine Foulds of Port Richey, Florida, and Lucy Goodwin of Santa Rosa, California; his brother Aaron Berutti of Allentown, Pennsylvania; his mother-in-law Geneva Miller of Colquitt, Georgia and his sister-in-law Mary Berutti of Largo, Florida.
