Lucile "Lucy" Peters Tindell
Lucile “Lucy” Peters Tindell, a resident of Wicksburg, was called home to her heavenly Father Wednesday, March 13, 2013, having been on loan to us for over one hundred years.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Goodwater Cemetery, Wicksburg, with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Flowers will be graciously accepted or memorials may be made to Extendicare, 950 S. Saint Andrews St., Dothan, AL 36301 or Pilgrim Home Baptist Church, 13534 US Hwy. 84 West, Newton, AL 36352.
Granny Lucy, born June 3, 1912, daughter of the late Thomas James and Lula Mae Thomley Peters, was a life-long resident of Houston County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and caretaker, totally devoted to her family.
The eldest of ten children, she is survived by one son, Henry Lee Tindell (Jeannie) Lakeville, MN; two daughters, Patsy Bishop and Mary Nan Brandon (George), both of Kingsland, AR; five grandchildren, Mitchell Lee Tindell, Lakeville, MN, Tammy Smith, Little Rock, AR, Pamela Jackson, Ashford, AL, Amy Revelle, Baytown, TX, and Jeffrey Brandon, Houston, TX; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Metha Chalker, Dothan, AL and Betty Smith (Grady), Panama City, FL; one sister-in-law, Joyce (Pelham) Peters, Wewahitchka, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Travis Lee “Buck” Tindell; four grandchildren, Michele Tindell, Randy Lee Babin, Stacey Brandon, Johnny Brandon; four brothers, T.J. “Tom” Peters, Spurgeon Peters, George Peters, and Travis Peters; three sisters, Walsie Bea “Slim” Williford, Mable Havard, and Bonnie Johnson; four brothers-in-law, Hubert Williford, Claude Havard, Frank Johnson, and Clarence Chalker; three sisters-in-law, Elois (Kent) Peters, Ellen (Harris) Peters, and Imogene (Abner) Peters; and several nieces and nephews.
