Lucille Sumlin Tindol, 97, of Enterprise, Alabama, began her new life in Heaven September 2, 2016, surrounded by her family. A woman of faith in the heart of her family, Lucille shaped their spirituality by her tireless devotion to Jesus Christ and unwavering faith. With the heart of a servant and a zest for life, she impacted the life of everyone she met.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with her son Rev. Mike Tindol and Rev. Jeff Pate officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, 531 US 231, Ozark, Alabama. The family will receive friends at Searcy Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 125 Hospital Ave., Ozark, AL 36360.
Lucille was born in Dale County on August 11, 1919 to the late Grady and Plumie Sumlin. Lucille is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lex Tindol, her sister, Ruby Jackson Rhodes and son-in-law, Glenn Pate.
Survivors include her five children, Bobbie Sue Pate, Ozark, AL; Lexine Smith (Allen), Enterprise, AL; Margaret Middleton (Larry), Mobile, AL; Debbie Beamer (Doug), Greensboro, North Carolina; Mike Tindol (Pam), Enterprise, AL; 14 grandchildren, Sharon Pate Cleveland (Ed), Bruce Pate, Jeff Pate (Lorrie), Scott Smith (Shasta), Lori Smith Malkoff (Stephen), Derek Smith (Judy), Stephen Smith (Adrianne), Rob Middleton (Jill), Andy Middleton (Mindy), Wesley Middleton, Brad King (Karla), Josh King, Rachel Tindol Gillis (Jack), Lex Tindol; 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; and 3 nieces.
