Luther Raymond Black of Opelika, AL passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was 76 years old.

 Luther was born in Herrick, IL on November 14, 1947 to the late Anderson Earl Black and Katherine Butler Maple.

 During his working life, Luther was a truck driver. After retirement, he was a man of a quiet and gentle spirit, often preferring to spend his quiet times alone.

 Luther is survived by four sisters; a number of nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.

 Luther will be buried on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. in Cayce United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cayce, KY beside his beloved mother, where he longed to be, when his journey here on earth was done.
