Lynda B. Thisler, a resident of Dothan passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at a local hospital. She was 74 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lynda was born on January 17, 1944 in Anniston, AL and spent the early part of her life there. She was employed with the Department of Defense for several years until her medical retirement in 1982 at Ft. Knox, KY. While living in Ft. Knox, she ran the preschool department at Heritage Baptist Church as well as Gladview Baptist Church. She was the Secretary of the Board for the StoneCreek Landing Homeowners Association and was a devout member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan where she was a part of the Lighthouse Sunday School Class and was very active in the children’s ministries. Lynda loved sewing and crocheting and was a very good cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her 7-week-old granddaughter, Emily Freeman.

Survivors include her husband Charles Trent Thisler; sons, David Keith Parris and Kenneth Neal Parris; daughter, Joy Elizabeth (Donald) Freeman; sister, Doris (James) King; brothers, Alvin (Zada) Brasher and Gary (Linda) Brasher; grandchildren, Siera Freeman and Brett Freeman; special friends, Faye Brooks and Carol Knight.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lighthouse Sunday School Class.
