In her professional life, Lynda served her community with grace and dedication. She worked with Twitchell and later joined Dr. Tysinger's medical practice, contributing her skills and passion to serve others. She was more than an employee; she was a friend, a confidant, and a figure of comfort for countless children.

Lynda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Howard Burdine.

Her husband lovingly called her "Mert the Gert," a nickname that showcased her playful and loving nature. She was patient and compassionate, always ensuring that no one went hungry and everyone felt loved. Lynda adored babies, often cradling them in her arms at church and rocking them to sleep. She dedicated her time to teaching the Tic Toc Class in the nursery at Westgate Church of Christ, further showcasing her love for children.
