This morning I spoke with Jack Stacey, husband to Lynda Stacey, for 42 years. He wanted everyone to know that Lynda would want everyone to dress casual for the funeral services. Jack said blue jeans is okay.

Jack said Lynda was a simple relaxed lady and would want people to be comfortable.

Lynda Sue Husted Stacey, 61, of Dothan passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home Saturday, October 27, 2012.

Funeral services will be held 3 pm Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Chestnut officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lynda Sue Husted was born May 5, 1951 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to James and Hazel (Grubb) Husted. She was raised in Blackwell, Oklahoma and graduated BHS 1969. She married Jack M. Stacey August 10, 1970, in Blackwell, OK. Shortly thereafter they moved to Mobile and had three sons, Jimmy, Michael, and Toby. Lynda began her career at Wal-Mart in Ponca City, Oklahoma more than 30 years ago. She transferred to Sam’s Club in Mobile. The family eventually moved to Dothan where Lynda became a valued employee. She made sure everyone knew she was Lynda with a "Y." She loved her job and excelled at it - "do it right the first time." Her greatest joy in life was her family and spending time at the beach. Her grandchildren gave her the most unbelievable memories and she was completely fulfilled with love from each one. She wouldn’t do for one what she couldn’t for all. Lynda defined the term "bragging rights" when referring to them. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years Jack Stacey of Dothan; sons, Jimmy (Jennifer) Stacey of Conway, SC, Michael (Ronda) Stacey of Headland, AL, and Toby (Crystal) Stacey of Dothan; grandchildren, Dustin, Alexandria, Caleb, Emily, Clayton and Brooke; two brothers, Jimmy Husted and Michael Husted both of Blackwell, OK; one sister Darla (Richard) Aytes of Newcastle, OK; and two special furry kids, Lexi and Charley (Bubbie).

Though many hearts are broken, Lynda would have loved to be remembered with a smile on every face, a song in every heart, and a celebration of cherished memories. Gone but NOT forgotten - we will love her always.

Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements. Please call us or visit www.SunsetMemorialPark.com for more information.
