LYNNE PHILLIPS PARKER
Lynne Phillips Parker, 67, went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2023. Lynne was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Monday, March 27, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Reverend Norman C. Simmons and Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the First Baptist Church - Headland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Lynne’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 600 Beacon Parkway West, Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
She was a lifelong resident of Headland, AL and married to the love of her life, Danny Parker, for 48 years. They met at Headland High School and married soon after high school graduation. They were rarely not by one another’s side and raised two daughters together. Lynne worked for 30 years in banking where she made lifelong friends. Lynne enjoyed reading and writing but devoted most of her time to serving her family. She tenderly cared for her parents in their last years and also walked faithfully with her husband through his health struggles. She was happiest when playing with her grandchildren and always looked forward to seeing them. Lynne came to faith in Jesus Christ as a child, holding fastly to that faith her entire life and nurturing a love for the Lord in her children.
She will be missed immensely by her husband Danny Parker, her children Jenny McNeill (Ken) and Kim Dobson (Derek) and by her grandchildren Hannah, Grace, Claire, Jacob, Nathan, Levi and Mary McNeill and Aidan and Parker Dobson. She also leaves behind her loving sisters Anne Taylor (Harvey) and Kate Bush (Mike), and her sisters-in-law Brenda Phillips and Renae Farley (Steve). She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Melba Phillips of Headland and her brother, Tom Phillips.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Basarakudo and his staff at Southeast Health Oncology, the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice and especially to her friend Mrs. Ruby Reaves and her team of sitters who cared for Lynne with true kindness and compassion.
