Mable Granger Mixon, a resident of Hodgesville, AL, went home to be with the Lord while visiting family in New Jersey on August 21, 2012. She was 77.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11 A. M. from the Chapel of Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Reverend Clyde Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 6 until 8 P. M.

Mable was born on December 4, 1934 to the late Gracie Richards Granger and the late Cliff Granger. She married Otis Mixon, Jr. on July 31, 1957. Otis and Mable active in the farming community. She served in the Alabama Cowbelles Association in the 1970’s. Mable was extremely proud of her sons who both earned doctorate degrees. She was a devoted sister, loving mother and proud grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Mixon, Jr.

 

She is survived by her twin sister and brother in law Ethel and B J Key of Dothan, AL; son and daughter in law Stacey and Priscilla Mixon of  Dothan; son and daughter in law Scott and Melanie Mixon of Park Ridge, NJ; nephew Phil and Wanda Key of Fadette, AL; great nephews Craig Kelley and Chad Kelley and grandchildren, Bruce, Lorelei and Nathaniel.
