DOTHAN. . .Maebel Ryals Beaty, a resident of Dothan, died late Sunday night, December 21, 2014. She was 96.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 26, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Chaplain (Major) Roger McCay, Reverend Woodrow Farrington and Dr. Brad Harris officiating. A private graveside service will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M Friday morning at the mortuary in Headland.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.



            Mrs. Beaty was born and reared in Henry County, near the Edwin Community, daughter of the late Walter Lee Ryals and Florence Imodell Creel Ryals. She moved to Dothan in 1943. Mrs. Beaty was a member of the Mt. Enon Primitive Baptist Church in Edwin. She retired from J.C. Penney in 1981 as a Department Manager in the Infant’s Department. Mrs. Beaty was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Eugene Beaty, and a brother, Howard Ryals.


            Surviving relatives include a son, Henry Beaty (Sue), Dothan; two grandchildren, Sharla Harris (Dr. Brad Harris) , and Sharon McCay (Chaplain (Major )Roger McCay); five great-grandchildren, Sam McCay, Emily McCay, Jacob Harris, Connor Harris, and Benjamin Harris; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
