Maebelle H. Thornton, 91, a resident of Slocomb, passed away at her residence surrounded by her loving and caring family. She was born on October 10, 1930, in Seminole County, GA., to the late Rubin M. Harris and Zora Belle (Hudspeth) Harris.

Funeral Services will be 3 PM, Monday, October 18, 2021, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until service time at the funeral home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Thornton, brothers, Harold (Buddy) Harris and Jerry Mack Harris, sisters, Margie Seguin, and Geraldine Harris.

Survivors include her children, John Shy, Michael Shy, Cherie Outlaw, Carolyn Shy, and Lisa Shy, sisters, Josephine (Hugh) Leatherwood, Grace (Bobby) Kirkland, Julie (Jerry) Atkins, Maurice Richardson, and Gladys Corbin, eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, along with a host of loving family members and friends.
