Malissa A. Tew, a resident of Dothan, Alabama passed away Sunday afternoon, September 5, 2021 at Southeast Health. She was 69 years old.
Malissa was born in Dothan, Alabama to the late Jackson Leroy and Christine “Cook” Holland. She was a member of the Taylor Baptist Church. She had a strong faith in Jesus and led a life of service to others. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, delicious cakes, the hum of hymns as she worked and her infectious laugh.
Malissa is preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, James Tew.
Leaving to cherish her memories are her son, Wendell Tew (Beth), of Slocomb; daughter, Melanie Clegg, of Dothan; sister, Sara Wilson of Taylor; grandchildren, Zack Tew, Carrie Tew, and Megan Waybright; nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Selma Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Family requests masks to be worn due to Covid 19 precautions.
