Mallie C. "Bud" Sellers, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 8, 2023, at his home in Cowarts. Mallie, affectionately known as Bud, was born on June 8, 1940, to Johnnie and Clatie Sellers.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rebecca Kirkland Sellers. Together, they built a beautiful life and a strong family. Bud’s legacy lives on through his children: Mitchell Sellers (Melanie), Marcia Marsh (Brian), Tina Triplett (Jim Holley), Scott Sellers, Eric Sellers (Kim), and April Hataway (Jonathan).

His adoring grandchildren, Shanda Jerkins (Chris), Devon Calametti (Zach), Jordan Grider (Grant), Katelyn Triplett (Nick Cooper), Macey Triplett (Jason Ward), Lucas Sellers, Ava Sellers, Abigail Sellers, Ethan Sellers, Caden Hataway, Gavin Hataway, and Maggie Hataway, as well as his great-grandchildren, Corey Jerkins, Rebecca Calametti, Callum Grider, and Truett Grider, will forever cherish their memories with him.

Bud was a devoted brother to his sister, Nellie Trawick, who will miss him dearly. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

Bud graduated from Cottonwood High School where he excelled as an athlete. After high school, he proudly served his country in the Air National Guard before dedicating many years to farming in eastern Houston County. Bud’s faith was an integral part of his life, and he was a long-time Union Hill Baptist Church member.

In his leisure time, Bud enjoyed fishing and hunting, finding solace and joy in nature’s beauty. But perhaps his greatest joy came from sharing stories with anyone willing to listen. His vibrant personality and captivating storytelling made him a joy to be around. Above all, Bud was a devoted family man, treasuring every moment spent with his loved ones.
