Mrs. (Marcia) Ann Heath a long time resident of Dothan, passed away to be with her Lord on Sunday December 25, 2011, peacefully at home with her family by her side following a short but courageous battle - she was 69.  Mrs. Heath was born in Dothan to the late Harold and Doris White and was a graduate of Dothan High School.  In 1964 she married her sweetheart Charles E. Heath and together they built their lives in Dothan raising their son Robin making numerous contributions to the local community.

Ann was a devoted wife and mother who is survived by her loving husband Charles E. Heath, her son Robin Heath (and wife Treva) of Fernandina Beach, Florida and a sister Gloria Whitestone (and husband Bruce) of Germantown, TN, and a sister-in-law Betty Padgett (and husband John) of Marianna, Fl.   Ann was also a proud grandmother of Tucker Heath of Fernandina Beach.  She is also survived by four nephews (Scott, Tony, Steve, & Chris) and one niece Erika who have traveled to honor her from as far away as Birmingham, Memphis, Denver and San Diego.  She was preceded by her parents, grandparents, and a special Aunt Katie   Ann worked many years at Sports World, a local business founded by she and her husband and later as a Sales Associate in the Cosmetics Department both at Parisians and Belk’s at Wiregrass Commons Mall where she had many friends and acquaintances..

She enjoyed the simple things in life like quiet dinners with Charles or a day trip to Destin with sister Gloria.  She especially enjoyed visiting with Robin, Treva and Tucker at their home in Fernandina Beach, Florida.  She also enjoyed spending time and visiting with special friends and relatives like Sandra, Wanda, Barbara, Jackie, Martha and Aunt Kate.  Ann devoted her life to helping others and was always a joy and inspiration to be around.  She also adored her beautiful white cat “Gracie” which Ann had rescued.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thurs Dec 29, 2011 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home at 2414 Hartford Hwy in Dothan.  The family will receive relatives & friends with visitation just before the funeral from1:00pm to 2:00pm.  The Rev. Dewain Cooke will be officiating.
