Margaret E. Ray, a resident of New Brockton and formerly of Enterprise, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ray was born July 14, 1924 in East St. Louis. Missouri and lived the early part of her life there. She later resided in Morehouse, MO where she attended high school and later met and married George Ray. They resided in New Port Richie, FL and Bonifay, FL before moving to Coffee County where they resided for over 20 years. Mrs. Ray was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Enterprise. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Ray, her daughters, Esther Ruth Haley and Gaye Virginia Yount, and her great-grandson, Zachary Strickland.
Survivors include her daughter, Dana Holmes; grandchildren, Beth Duncan, Paige Kenney, Jeremy Yount and Jim Ray; great-grandchild, Joshua Long; great-great-grandchildren, Preslee Elain Strickland, Hillary Long, Hailie Long, and Haidyn Long; and special friends she considered like her granddaughter and grandson, Tamara and Kyle Duncan.
