Margaret Jean

Margaret Jean “Jeanie” Ahmad, a resident of Montgomery, AL passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at her residence. She was 61.

Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, October 5, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park in Dothan, AL.

Jeanie was born on August 11, 1959 to the late John Perry Smith and Mary Jane Norman. She graduated from Ashford High School and later attended University of South Alabama where she obtained her degree in Education. Jeanie had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel with her daughter and savor the experiences. She was a loving mother and teacher who will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Tammy Sue Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Shahla Ahmad Barrow; her close family friends, Arthur John Barrow, Jim Shepard, Jr., Karthik S., and Carol Zarbock; her animal companions, Lilly and Rowena.
