COLUMBIA. . .Marianne Moore Hasty, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday morning, April 1, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was 87.


            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the Camp Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, near Columbia, with Pastor Vann Cooley officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Camp Springs Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Sharon Elliott, 12039 County Road 53, Columbia, AL 36319 or to the First Baptist Church of Columbia, P.O. Box 267, Columbia, AL 36319.


            Mrs. Hasty was born and reared  in Coleman, Georgia, daughter of the late John Turner Moore and Mary Beard Moore. Upon marriage to her husband, LaDon, she moved to Columbia where she lived all her adult lifetime. Mrs. Hasty was a member of Camp Springs Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husband, James LaDon Hasty, three sisters, Miriam Wallace, Louise Duke and Beatrice Huff and two brothers, J C Moore and Hal Moore.  


            Surviving relatives include her girls who loved her dearly, Donna and Dawn, both of Columbia; sisters-in-law from the Hasty family, Sheila Oakley (Paxton), Jo Hasty and Trish Newton; numerous nieces and nephews.


            Marianne leaves behind a host of special friends in the Columbia area and Georgia.
