FAIRHOPE…Marie Chancey Wilson, a resident of Fairhope, Alabama and native of Henry County, died Tuesday afternoon, April 16, 2019, at her home. She was 95.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 18, 2019, in the Old Center United Methodist Church, near Newville, with Reverend Mike Colclasure officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 9805 Millwood Circle D, Spanish Fort, AL 36527 or to the Old Center Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Priscilla Trawick, 4852 County Road 7, Newville, Al 36353.
Mrs. Wilson was born and reared in Henry County, near Newville, daughter of the late Coy Thomas Chancey and Irene Clyde Aman Chancey. She lived in Dothan and Brewton before moving to Fairhope in 2000. Mrs. Wilson retired as a Payroll Clerk from T. R. Miller Mill in Brewton. She was a member of the Fairhope United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husbands, William Glen Wilson and Ray Williams, two sisters, Janie Faye Posey and Ruth Hubbard, and two brothers, Ozro Chancey and Otho Chancey.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Glenda McCann, Ashburn, GA; a son, Mickey Wilson (Louise), Fairhope, AL; a sister, Corene Kirkland, Headland; five grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Wendy Bass (Troy), Cheri Colclasure (Mike), Tracy St. Amant and Julie North (Pete); nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
