Marie Elena Peddicord, a resident of Cowarts, AL passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at her residence. She was 75 years old.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Peddicord was born December 6, 1941 in Norfolk, Virginia and spent the early part of her life there and in Baltimore, Maryland. She lived in California for many years until moving to Cowarts in 1982. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved being out in the ministry and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, John Mart Peddicord.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Neal) Tew; sons, David (Justina) Peddicord, Nathan (Leslie) Peddicord, and Jon (Cindy) Peddicord; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Sam (Delane) McKown and John Howard (Charity) McKown; sister-in-law, Mary Rhea; her best friend, Mary Ellen Yates; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
