MARTHA BEDSOLE McENTYRE
DOTHAN . . .Martha Bedsole McEntyre, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday morning, February 15, 2012, in the Hunter Creek Health & Rehabilitation in Northport, Alabama. She was 77.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 17, 2012, in the Bethel Baptist Church, East Cottonwood Road, Dothan, with Reverend Wallace Russell and Reverend John D. Reese, III officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Newton City Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P. M. Friday in the church sanctuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 3257 E. Cottonwood Road, Dothan, AL. 36301.
Mrs. McEntyre was born and reared in Newton, daughter of the late Thomas Franklin Bedsole and Bonnie Love Quattlebaum Bedsole. She lived in Blakely, Georgia before moving to Dothan in 1989. Mrs. McEntyre was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. In earlier years, she was employed by General Telephone Company. Mrs. McEntyre was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Erle McEntyre, (Colonel, U. S. Army, Retired), two daughters, Melanie McEntyre and Bonnie Laura Willis, four sisters, Blanche Bedsole, Adeane Gresham, Betty Adcock and Sybil Trammell and a brother, James F. Bedsole.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Rodger Acree, Dothan; Dr. Clint McEntyre and wife, Rena, Tuscaloosa; a son-in-law, Robert Neil Willis, Dothan; two sisters, JoAnne King and husband, Bill, Newton, AL; and Jacqueline Grantham, Ozark; a sister-in-law, Ann McEntyre Urban, Columbia; five grandchildren, Hilary Willis, Brandon Acree, Katie Marie McEntyre, Carter McEntyre and Wells McEntyre.
