Martha Bridges Andrews, 81, a resident of Dothan, entered her eternal home Tuesday, December 19, 2023, after an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at The Mount of Olives Memorial Garden in Cottonwood with Reverend Cory Solomon officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Andrews was born February 16, 1942, in Houston County, Alabama of the late Ewell and Jane Tindell Bridges. Martha grew up in Cottonwood and was a 1960 graduate of Cottonwood High School. After graduation, she married the love of her life and husband of 59 years, Mr. Hermon “Tony” Andrews. Their marriage was a testament of their love and commitment to each other. Together they faithfully served their Lord and Savior, raising their two daughters in church and guiding their grandchildren and great grandchildren in their Christian faith.

Over the years, Martha served as a Sunday school teacher, in children’s ministry, in women’s ministry, meals on wheels, and was a prayer warrior. Mrs. Andrews was a member of Dothan First Assembly of God Church for twenty-seven years and served in the nursing home ministry with the senior adults. She was also an active member of Cottonwood Senior Center, where she enjoyed the food and company of her friends while playing dominos. She was formerly employed at Sony for fifteen years, but her most meaningful work was inside the home. Mrs. Andrews had a love for cooking and gardening and was known for her green thumb. She found joy in serving her family, church, and those in her community. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hermon “Tony” Andrews; parents; and sister, Essie Mae Kirkland.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Andrews Deese (Dewayne) and Rhonda Andrews Hayes (Phillip), all of Cottonwood; grandchildren, Amy Deese McNeill (Todd) of Dothan, Courtney Deese Vickers (Josh) of Dothan, Haley Anderson Reinelt (Chris) of Cottonwood, Drew Hayes (Pace) of Ashford, and Matt Hayes of Opelika; great-grandchildren, Hedaya Watts (Troy), Ethan McNeill, Ella Brooke McNeill, Landree Hayes, Rawlins Hayes, Lily Jayne Vickers, Evan Reinelt, Nolan Reinelt, Baylor Hayes, Addie Mae Vickers, and Hank Hayes; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Jenkins and Virginia Henry; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and close friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dewayne Deese, Phillip Hayes, Ethan McNeill, Todd McNeill, Chris Reinelt, and Josh Vickers.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Southern Care Hospice; Lynda Kirkland, RN; Nancy Turnham, CRNP; and especially her beloved caregiver, Stella Billingsley for the loving care and kindness shown to Mrs. Andrews during her illness.
