Martha Faye (Simms) Arnold, 85, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023.

Martha was born October 30, 1938 to Troy and Era Simms. She was the third of six children. Her parents ran a grocery store and later opened Troy Simms Pecan Company where she worked for many years. Martha graduated from Dothan High School and attended Baylor University. She met the love of her life, Jimmy Arnold, in the summer of 1963 and they were married on October 16, 1963 at First Baptist Church in Dothan. Martha and Jimmy were blessed with three children. Martha was a devoted wife and mother and spent many years cheering for her children from the sidelines as Jimmy coached their respective sports teams. She loved spending time with family and was the absolute best Nana to her grandchildren. Martha was a “second Mom” to so many of her children’s friends and it was very common for the neighborhood football, basketball, or baseball game to take place at the family home. She loved flowers and spent many happy days working in her yard tending to her numerous flower beds. Martha was also a fabulous Avon lady to her many friends and customers. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church for many years and later joined First Free Will Baptist Church. Her strong faith in God and her unwavering support and love for her husband, children, and grandchildren will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Martha is survived by her three children, Cindy Jo Willis (Dale Baldwin), Scott Alan Arnold (Carly), and Neal Matthew Arnold (Jennifer); her eight grandchildren, Joshua Stephen Willis, Adam Christopher Willis, Emily Morgan Baldwin, Hudson Matthew Phillips Arnold, Luke Edwin Phillips Arnold, Molly Francis Arnold, Emory Katherine Arnold, and Alex Tristin Arnold; her two sisters Sonya Simms Harrison (Paul), and Sheryll Simms Green, and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jimmy Arnold, her parents Troy and Era Simms, her two brothers Haywood Simms and Wayland Simms, and her sister Margie Simms Monk.
