Martha Jean Hovey Beasley, 80, a resident of Clayton, passed away May 9, 2020 at her residence.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 13th, 2020 at Pine Level Cemetery/ Pastor Frank Terpening will officiate with Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Humane Society of Barbour County, 99 Gilchrist Rd, Clayton, AL, 36016.
Martha was born October 22, 1939 in Barbour County to Hubert and Viola Faircloth Hovey. She graduated from Troy State University with a Master’s degree in Education. She was a dedicated teacher and retired after 40 years of teaching from Abbeville High School. Martha loved her family, and she adored her two granddaughters. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and sewing in her spare time.
She is predeceased by her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Alan Ladale Beasley (Diane) of Dade City FL and Adam Pride Beasley of Pensacola, FL; a daughter Tamsen Latrelle Beasley of Rome, GA; her granddaughters Emma and Elizabeth Duke; a brother Thomas Dean Hovey (Patsy) of Warner Robins, GA; nieces Michelle Reid and Laura Beth Hovey; nephews Tim Hovey and Jason Hovey; a host of many close friends including Pastor Frank and Sue Terpening.
