Martha June McGrady Hawkins, 84, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, May 27, 2024 at Southeast Health following a brief illness.

Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Memory Hill Cemetery with Reverend Randy Woodham officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 36105 or the Dothan Rescue Mission, 2210 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL 36301.

Mrs. Hawkins was born March 25, 1940 in Houston County to the late Albertie and Luther Outlaw and was a lifelong resident of Dothan. She graduated from Dothan High School in 1958 and married her husband, Ed McGrady. They were married for 48 years and had 3 children together.

She retired from the City of Dothan Engineering Department in 1995. She was a past member of Selma Baptist Church and most recently was a member of Taylor Baptist Church. Mrs. Hawkins was a devoted wife, mother and “Meemaw”.

She is preceded in death by her three children, Gina, Bill and Greg McGrady, husband Ed McGrady, parents, Albertie and Luther Outlaw, two sisters, Jean Enfinger and Vivian Stacey and a cousin, Lindy Sears.

Survivors include her husband of sixteen years, Frank Hawkins of Dothan; two grandchildren, Patrick McGrady (Ashley) and Emma McGrady; one great grandchild, William McGrady; a daughter-in-law, Mary McGrady; two step-daughters, Sherry Neilly and Shelia Williams (Tommy); a niece, Pam Stacey; many other special nieces, nephews and family members also survive.

Active pallbearers will be Patrick McGrady, Tommy Williams, Bill Hilyer and Tim Stacey.
