Martha M. Gilliam, 85, a resident of Panama City and formerly of Dothan passed away Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Bay Medical Center.


Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday, August 12, 2012 at New Life Church in Dothan with Rev. Keener Batchelor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service at the church.


Mrs. Gilliam was born July 8, 1927 in Huntsville, AL and lived the early part of her life there. She was a resident of Panama City, FL, Compass Lake and Dothan, AL where she worked as a nurse at the Haven for several years until her retirement. She was a member of New Life Church in Dothan. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert Gilliam.


Survivors include her son Stephen Gilliam of Panama City, FL; a daughter Carol Cochran of Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren, Heather Gilliam and Courtney McKinney; a brother James Verhine; and a sister Hazel Minton.
