COALING, ALABAMA. . .Martha Miller Williams, a resident of Coaling, Alabama, formerly of Dothan, died Sunday night, August 4, 2024, at the home of her daughter in Coaling. She was 89.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Johnny Knight, Barbara Knight and Audrey Dollar officiating. Burial will follow in the New Prospect Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, near Edwin, in Henry County, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Caring Days Adult Care, 943 31^st Street, East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.  

            Mrs. Williams was born and reared in Cuthbert, Georgia, daughter of the late James William Miller and Mamie Jane Jones Miller. She was a graduate of Riley Business College in Dothan. Mrs. Williams lived in Dothan most of her lifetime before moving to Coaling, Alabama in 2016. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cuthbert, GA. Mrs. Williams retired from the Federal State Inspection Service in Dothan as an Inspector. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Williams, sisters, Ruby Milner, Audrey Milner, Thelma Milner, Mary W. Parrish and Edna Turner, and brothers, Jack T. Miller and Charles E. Miller.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Lisa Williams Foster (Brian), Coaling, AL; grandchildren, Cristal Jean Ballenger (Jason), James Todd Johnson (Krista), Cole Foster (Mallory), Zach Foster (Megan), and Phillip Foster (Laura); great-grandchildren, Will Townsend, Beckham Johnson, Kate Johnson, Fitz Foster, Finn Johnson,  Mary Elle Foster, Silas Foster and Maddie Foster; numerous nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be nephews.
