MARTHA STARLING TURNER
ABBEVILLE. . .Martha Starling Turner, a resident of Abbeville, died Tuesday afternoon, February 12, 2019, of injuries sustained in an accident which occurred in the yard of her home. She was 71.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Friday, February 15, 2019, in the Sardis Baptist Church with Reverend George Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Sardis Baptist Church, 1791 County Road 133, Abbeville, AL l363210 or to the Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Dolly Vickers, 204 Dothan Road, Abbeville, AL 36310.
Mrs. Turner was born and reared in the Wills Crossroads Community of Henry County, daughter of the late Leroy Starling and Eva Mae Barnes Starling. She lived near the Lawrenceville Community all her married life. Mrs. Turner was retired from WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville and was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by a son, Edward Lee Turner.
Surviving relatives include her husband, James Earl Turner; two daughters, Debra Turner Wilkerson (Owen), Abbeville; and Peggy Sue Turner Nolin (Todd), LaGrange, GA; two sisters, Mary Lucy Rogers (Teto), and Elaine Money (Jackie), all of Abbeville; two brothers, Leroy C. Starling (Jackie), and Earl M. Starling (Brenda), all of Bainbridge, GA; eight grandchildren, Destiny Sheppard (Anthony), Erica Wilkerson, Brandi Turner, Morgan Turner, Jonathan Wilkerson, Leanne Turner, Madeline Nolin and Jordan Nolin; thirteen great-grandchildren.
