Mrs. Martha Sue Warnke Grimes of Samson, AL, passed away Saturday, June 03, 2023. She was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 07, 2023 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Danny Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 07, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Flowers will be accepted.
Mrs. Grimes was born in Columbus, GA on January 04, 1950 to the late Gustaves A. and Hazel Estelle White Warnke. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her family was her heart and soul, whom she cherished and cared for diligently. Mrs. Martha was affectionately known as “The Avon Lady” for over 40 years. She not only cared for her family, but the community as a whole. She was loved by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Bedsole.
Mrs. Martha is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, George Rayford Grimes; four children, Gina Grimes Wise (Keith), Susan Grimes Platt, and Gary Grimes, all of Samson, AL and Randy Grimes (Misty Kimble Grimes) of Dothan, AL; five grandchildren, Melanie Wise Adkison (Jeffery), Hallie Adams Carroll (Josh), Cameron Adams, Kolten Platt, Gage Sanders (Kate Cedoz Sanders); four great grandchildren, Parker Adkison, Braxton Adkison, Grayson Adkison and Clarke Carroll; one sister, Mary Jean Faulk of Samson, AL; sister-in-law, Dianne Bedsole of Slocomb, AL; numerous other extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Carroll, Jeffery Adkison, Parker Adkison, David McGowan, Paul Grimes and Lucas Edison.
