MARTHA  TIPTON  FLOURNOY

 

ABBEVILLE. . .Martha Moring Tipton Flournoy, a resident of Abbeville, died Wednesday afternoon, May 16, 2012, at her home. She was 88.

            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 19, 2012, in the Abbeville United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert C. Yawn officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the Abbeville United Methodist Church Family Life Center.

            In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Abbeville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 100, Abbeville, AL. 36310.

            Mrs. Flournoy was born and reared in Abbeville where she lived most of her lifetime. She was a member of the Abbeville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Flournoy was preceded in death by her parents, James Daniel Moring and Mary Clint Wells Moring, her husbands, Elbert Arthur Tipton and Harold Martin (Harry) Flournoy, a step-daughter, Etha Adams and two brothers, Robert Moring and Moody Moring.

 

            Surviving relatives include her daughter, Karen Tipton, Abbeville; a step-daughter, Marta Flournoy Bryant, Rockwall, Texas; two step-sons, Harold Steve Flournoy and wife, Sherry, Abbeville; and Lt Col. (Retired), Mark Alan Flournoy and wife, Andrea, Washington, D.C.; a step-son-in-law, David Adams, Ft. Gaines; a brother, Billy Moring and wife, Myrtle, Abbeville; a special cousin, Verna Teal, Columbus, GA; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
