MARTY RAYBON
DOTHAN…Marty Raybon, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday night, May 12, 2013, in a Dothan hospital. He was 56.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with Reverend Earl Bridges and Reverend Steve Ethridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Raybon, son of the late Gene Raybon and Nelle Moss Raybon, was born in Dothan and reared in the Mt. Ararat Community. At the founding of Collins Signs, he was the thirteenth employee hired and worked his way up from general laborer to Supervisor. Mr. Raybon was a member of the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. He had a passion for music, and played the guitar in various bands including, Cinder and Risk.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Karen Wilkinson Raybon; a daughter, Tiffany Lynn Raybon, both of Dothan; three sons, Jason Raybon, Headland; Tony Raybon, and Corey Raybon, both of Dothan; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Kelsey, Triston, Hunter, Tyler, Caleb, and Addison; a sister, Joanna McLain and husband, Hubert McLain, Jr., Webb; three brothers, Don Raybon, Panama City, FL; Jeff Raybon, Dothan; Kevin Raybon and wife, Sharon, Hartford; step-mother, Esther Woodham, Texas; mother-in-law, Ora Jean Robinette Williams, Ozark; brother-in-law, Andy Wilkinson, Ozark; aunts, Mae Walker, Dothan; Blondell Raybon, Webb; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Roan Campbell, John Earl Trammell, and Bruce Murphy.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Robby Enfinger, John Earl Trammell, Wesley McLain, Chad Blackwell, Terry Raybon, Randy Raybon, Scott Smith, and Kevin Raybon.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Jessica Avant, Robby Enfinger, Chad Blackwell, 3rd Floor Oncology, as well as SAMC Cancer Center and Home Health and also Drs. Brown, Burgess, and Stokes for the loving care and kindness shown to Marty during his illness. The family will never forget Roan Campbell.
