Marvin Lewis Linder, Sr., 79, a resident of Dothan, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness.
Marvin was born November 29, 1944, in Edwards County, Illinois to the late Nathan Kale & Ethel Irene (Leet) Linder. He spent the early years of his life in Grayville, Illinois, and attended Grayville High School. Following school, he began working in the oil industry and driving trucks. He later relocated to Dothan and began his career with Houston County Road & Bridge as an equipment operator in 1991. Marvin enjoyed singing karaoke and was of Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Cecilia (Steed) Linder; his parents; a granddaughter, Ashley Bullard; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hosman (Sam) of Grayville, IL; two sons, Marvin Linder, Jr. (Teresa) of Dothan, and Tyrel Linder of Grayville, IL; four grandchildren, Kylee Hosman, Jake Hosman, Jaymi Hosman, and Lucas Bullard; three great-grandchildren, Addy, Baylee, and Austin; a brother, Steve Linder (Pat) of Grayville, IL; a sister, Carolyn Johnson of Gainesville, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Westside Terrace, for the great care given to Marvin during his time there.
Per his wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
